About Estelle

Estelle M. Rand is a visionary community leader in Beverly, MA, currently serving as the city councilor for Ward 2 and as the Director of the Beverly Farmers’ Market.

As the Ward 2 councilor, Estelle has authored and supported policies that place people first.  She has deepened and increased affordable housing, created the Beverly Human Rights Committee, and supported improved bike and pedestrian safety.  Estelle continues to lead by example in Beverly, by listening to constituents, empowering and inspiring the community, building consensus, and being an expert in the process and possibilities of local government.

Estelle looks forward to continuing to make a positive impact in people’s lives in Beverly by pursuing a vision of a thriving local economy that supports the citizens’ economic stability and entrepreneurial spirits, enhances existing community assets, quality of life and economic diversity while sustainably contributing to the city budget.  Her work in climate action advocacy, waste reduction, supporting Beverly’s identity as a creative and cultural hub, and supporting equity and inclusion aligns with this vision of an economically and culturally thriving community.

Estelle lives with her husband, Jonathan and her two teens Miles and Magnolia in the Goat Hill neighborhood.  When she is not representing the good people of Ward 2, Beverly in city government matters or building consensus, Estelle can be found at her day job reading books to elementary school children as their librarian, thrift store shopping with her teenagers, or dancing her heart out to live music.
